How Season Works

New Event Format

Events alternate between 2v2 Scramble and Head-to-Head matchups, adding strategy, competition, and an exciting season finish.

Schedule

Monthly events are held on Saturday mornings, typically on the last Saturday of each month. August event is held on the second-to-last Saturday.

League Tiers

To promote competitive balance, teams are divided into two tiers based on player handicaps.

Championship Tier

  • 4 teams
  • 5 players per team
  • Handicap range: 0–19

Competitive Tier

  • 4 teams
  • 5 players per team
  • Handicap range: 20–40

Handicap changes during the season do not affect tier placement. Players remain in their assigned tier for the duration of the season.

Roster & Player Availability

  • Before the season, each player is drafted onto a team of five for the full season
  • Four players must compete at each event
  • Teams that do not field four players risk losing points

Hired Guns

  • Players who are not tied to a team. They may be picked up by multiple teams on a catch-and-release basis.
  • Max two event appearances
  • All hired gun pickups and handicap validations must be approved prior to the monthly captains’ meeting.

Stack Your Nuts (Points)

Lead your team to the top by the end of the season.

2v2 Scramble

  • Teams of 4 split into two 2-player matches
  • Up to 8 potential Nuts per event

Each Matchup

  • Win: 4 Nuts
  • Tie: 2 Nuts

Head-to-Head

  • Teams of 4 split into four individual matches
  • Up to 8 potential Nuts per event

Each Matchup

  • Win: 2 Nuts
  • Tie: 1 Nuts

Buy-In & Waiver Players

Season Players

  • Buy-In: $125
  • Applied to the year-end prize pool

Hired Guns

  • Maximum of two events

Additional Notes

  • All players pay their own greens fees
  • Top Golf Season Combine & Ryder Cup is not included in the season buy-in and will require a separate fee

League Fund

Each buy-in includes a contribution to the League Fund, used to cover league essentials.

Payout Structure

Buy-ins and payouts are kept separate for each tier.

Championship Tier (4 Teams)

  • 1st Place: 100% of the pot

Competitive Tier (4 Teams)

  • 1st Place: 100% of the pot

Event Play & Matchups

Captains meet 2 weeks before each event to set league-wide matchups

2v2 Scramble

  • Teams form two pairs and challenge any opposing pair

Head-to-Head

  • Four individual 1v1 matches against other teams
    • Note – Players from different tiers may tee off together during singles matches.

Match Play Format

  • Each hole is a win, loss, or tie
  • Matches end when one side can’t be caught

Challenge Limit

  • Each player or two-man pairing may challenge the same pairing or head-to-head matchup no more than twice per season.

Scorecard Required

  • All matches require a completed paper scorecard to be submitted — no golf app will be used this season.
